Emberfall Chronicles
Emberfall Chronicles is the rare mobile RPG that respects your attention. You build a party of four from a roster of oddball heroes, then fight your way through a kingdom that's slowly falling apart. Combat is turn-based but quick, and positioning matters more than raw stats.
What won me over is the writing. Dialogue choices actually change who joins you and which regions open up. I replayed the second chapter twice just to see a different companion's storyline. The gear system is generous enough that you never feel grindy, which is a small miracle for the genre.
My advice: invest early in a healer with crowd control, because the mid-game ambush fights will punish a glass-cannon party. Don't sell rare materials either, you'll want them for the late crafting tree.
What we liked
- Branching story that reacts to your choices
- Snappy turn-based fights that don't overstay their welcome
- Fair progression without aggressive grinding
