Surviving the first hour of Skyforge Outpost
Skyforge Outpost eases you in, which is exactly why so many players crash and burn around the first real storm. The early game is calm enough that you forget to prepare for the part that isn't.
Priority one is food automation. Your settlers get grumpy fast when meals run short, and a grumpy settler who quits can break an entire production chain. I learned that the hard way when my only engineer walked off the job.
Priority two is keeping an airship in reserve. You'll want to scavenge nearby islands, but storms can strand a ship out there and you don't want that ship to be your only one. Build a second early even if it feels wasteful.
Once you've got steady food and a backup airship, the game relaxes and you can start experimenting with layouts. Before that, just survive. The island doesn't care about your grand plans if nobody's eaten in two days.
